QR code is not scanning

Scan problems usually mean the camera cannot read the code or you are not in the phone’s official add-eSIM flow. Fixing the scan does not by itself mean the eSIM is live on the network.

Please read

  • Install on the phone you will use; most eSIMs install only once.
  • Use Wi-Fi while troubleshooting installation.
  • Do not delete an existing Nomra eSIM unless support asks.

Try these first

Common mistake

If the profile installed but you still have no data, the QR scan was only step one—you still need roaming and the right data SIM selected.

  • Scanning from a random QR app instead of Settings → add eSIM
  • A cropped or dim QR on the same screen the camera is reading from
  • Expecting instant data before the Nomra line is on and roaming is enabled in destination

  • Increase screen brightness on the device showing the QR code.
  • Zoom out so the full QR code and quiet zone are visible.
  • Clean the camera lens; avoid glare and reflections.
  • Start the scan from Settings → add eSIM, not from a generic QR scanner app unless your OEM requires it.

If the QR code is on the same phone

Use manual installation. Open the manual installation guide and enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your Nomra eSIM details.

When to contact support

  • Your phone says the code is invalid.
  • Your phone says the eSIM is already used.
  • The Nomra app does not show QR or manual installation details after purchase.
